1908 Society of Golf Clubs
The Society of 1908 Golf Clubs was formed to provide an opportunity for Golf Clubs founded in 1908 to become members and thereafter enjoy the facilities and courtesy of each other’s golf courses. To view the full list of 1908 clubs, please click here to download the file.
Terms and Conditions of the Society
Where courtesy is given by a member golf club (see sheet opposite), it should be for up to 4 players at a time and subject to the visitors calling the chosen golf club in advance to arrange a date and tee time. Where Society Clubs are within 50 miles of one another it is suggested, in order to obviate the possibility of abuse of the facility, it has been agreed that a charge of 50% of the normal green fee is made.
The current 1908 Society of Golf Clubs within a 50-mile radius of Dunscar GC are:
- Turton Golf Club
- Prestwich Golf Club
- Penwortham Golf Club
- Werneth Golf Club (Oldham)
- Meltham Golf Club (Huddersfield)
Because some Member Clubs are not privately owned they are not able to provide a courtesy within the principles set out above:
- Both Frilford Heath GC and Hollingbury GC cannot offer any courtesy.
- Stoke Park GC, also known as Stoke Poges, has a daily green fee of £125, they have agreed to reducing this fee to £75 subject to a booking being made through their club shop on 01753 717172.
- Penn GC will offer the agreed courtesy but with play being restricted to week days only.
- Vale of Llangollen and Rippon GC’s wish to charge a 50% green fee for all visitors because of the excessive demand to play their courses.

1908 Dunscar Golf Club Principles
Monday to Friday (except Tuesday as this is Ladies Day)
- Courtesy offered between 9.30am - 11.30am and between 1.30pm - 4pm
- However, if a Lady Fourball wishes to arrange and join the Tuesday Ladies Day, the Lady organiser must call in advance and confirm with the Secretary on 01204 303321 between the hours of 09.30am and 1pm.
Saturdays
- No courtesy offered
Sundays
- Courtesy is offered between 9.30am - 11.30am and between 2.30pm - 4.30pm
Bank Holidays
- No courtesy offered
General Principles
- For tee availability, please check with the Secretary on 01204 303321 between the hours of 9.30am and 1.00pm.
- 1908 Society of Golf Clubs within a 50 mile radius - To prevent abuse of the facility, a charge of 50% of the Standard Single Player Green Fee is required. Green Fees are:
- With a Member - £15
- Without a Member £22.50
